Delete your Hobson account

Option 1: Delete it in the app

This is immediate. On your phone:

1. Open Hobson and sign in.
2. Tap your profile photo, then Settings.
3. Tap Delete Account, then confirm.

Your account and data are removed as soon as you confirm. This cannot be undone.

Option 2: Ask us to delete it

If you no longer have the app installed, email us from the address you use to sign in to Hobson.

1. Email developer@gethobson.app with the subject "Delete my Hobson account".
2. Send it from your account's email address so we can confirm the account is yours.
3. We delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.

Delete some data and keep your account

• Calendar events: disconnecting Google Calendar in Settings deletes the events Hobson stored from it.
• Strava activities: disconnecting Strava in Settings deletes the activities Hobson stored from it.
• Anything else: email developer@gethobson.app from your account's address and tell us what to delete, such as chat history or forwarded emails. We do it within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your profile: name, email address and photo
• Calendar events Hobson stored for you, and your calendar and Strava connections
• Your nudges, nudge settings and patterns Hobson learned from your calendar
• Chat conversations with Hobson and emails you forwarded to Hobson
• Circles you created, along with their lists, nudges, carpools and care trips
• Your memberships in other people's Circles, and your name on their lists and rides
• Your email preferences and email history

What is kept, and for how long

• A record that the deletion happened. Our system logs the deletion for security. App logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Analytics and crash reports. Our providers (PostHog and Sentry) hold usage and error data tied to an ID, not your name. They delete or de-identify it on their own rolling schedules.
• Your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store first, or you may keep being billed. Purchase records are kept by Google, Apple and our billing provider as the law requires.

Items other people own stay with them. If you were a member of someone else's Circle, that Circle remains, without you in it.
